Tales of Ordinary Madness and The Fridge by Barking Baz

Bosch GSN24A21 Gefrierschrank / A+

Want to keep an eye on your child while you are in busy toiling in the kitchen? Get the new Leap Frog's Fridge Phonics Magnetic Set and enjoy watching your child being totally occupied at learning the alphabets. The toy is suitable for age range of 2 – 5 years old.

The toy is a set of 26 colorful, magnetic alphabets and a magnetic letter reader that attaches securely to your fridge. Each letter, when inserted into the reader, talks, sings and teaches letter names, how to sound out that letter and speaks a word which begins with that letter. There is a button on the reader, which sings out the alphabet song. Just put a letter into the reader to hear its name, its sound and a new word.

Learning the alphabets is the first stepping stone toward learning to read and write. The fridge phonics introduces the child to the world of alphabets and words and helps them to listen and learn. The alphabet song is catchy and children tend to pick it up soon. In fact, it is so addictive that I too sing along with it many a times! The letters are colorful, bright and large and easy to grasp. There is a volume switch in the unit which has two settings, so that the volume can be set to a desired level.

The toy is not very expensive; it is priced at around $20. The magnetic letters and reader are very durable and stick on to magnetic surfaces. It can also be carried around by hand if required. The toy is not heavy and can take harsh playing scenarios. The toy can also withstand repeated plays. And repetition helps children learn things faster.

The letters are traceable and children do learn the alphabets pretty fast. The toy also enhances fine motor skills as the magnetic letters need to be in a particular position to be fitted into the reader. It is similar to shape sorter!

The fridge phonics help children develop their speech as kids try to imitate the sounds the toy makes. The toy has received positive reviews till now. Personally I would recommend this toy to all mothers of toddlers out there as it is sure to be an instant hit with the kids. If you have limited time to teach your kids, get the fridge phonics. It will definitely teach your kids to listen and learn.
